PHOTOGRAPHY & DRONE
Common questions about listing photos, aerial images, video, deliverables, and what is included in a shoot
-
Yes. We provide aerial drone photography and drone video for real estate listings where flight conditions and airspace rules allow. Drone media can help show the lot, property setting, views, nearby amenities, and surrounding neighbourhood.

-
All our packages include professional interior and exterior photos, blue-sky replacement when needed, MLS-ready and web-ready image exports, floor plans, and marketing materials + website.
Package details vary by size and tier, so please see our services page for more details
-
The final image count depends on property size, layout, and package, but most residential listings receive approximately 35-50 professionally edited photos.
-
A Vertical Highlight is a short, fast-paced video created in a vertical format for Instagram, TikTok, and other social platforms. It’s designed to grab attention quickly and showcase the property’s strongest features.
A Cinematic Walkthrough is a longer, more considered film produced in a widescreen 16:9 format. It gives the property more room to breathe and is ideal for listing websites, YouTube, presentations, and larger screens.
Booking & Process
SCHEDULING YOUR SHOOT
What you can expect when you book an appointment with Homework
-
Book online by selecting your services, choosing an available appointment, and entering the property details. Once submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation with the appointment information and next steps.
-
However you prefer. You’re welcome to meet us at the property and be part of the shoot, or simply provide a door code, lockbox instructions, or another way to access the home. We’ll take care of the rest.
-
The property should be clean, staged, and ready to photograph when we arrive. Clear countertops, open blinds, turn on accessible lights, and secure pets. We’ll make small adjustments where needed, but cleaning and full staging should be completed beforehand.
Our Property Prep Guide provides a more detailed checklist.
-
Most appointments take approximately one to two hours. The exact timing depends on the size of the property and the services ordered. Video, agent introductions, interactive tours, and larger properties may require additional time.
-
You’ll receive a booking confirmation with the appointment details. We’ll review your order and property information before the shoot and reach out if anything needs clarification.
After the appointment, your media moves into post-production and will be delivered through your online property page.
-
Hey, life happens - we get it. Just let us know as soon as possible, and we’ll do our best to get you back on the schedule at the earliest opportunity.
Please see our Terms of Service for more details.
Pricing & Delivery
RATES, TIMELINES & DELIVERY
Simple pricing, flexible options, and clear expectations for payment, turnaround, and delivery.
-
We keep pricing simple and fair. We don’t charge by square footage, listing price, or number of photos. Choose the package that matches the level of marketing support your listing needs, and we’ll photograph the property as thoroughly as needed to give buyers a clear and complete picture.
-
Absolutely! Our packages are a starting point, and you can add services such as drone photography, cinematic video, virtual staging, and neighborhood highlights during checkout. Not sure what the listing needs? Give us a call or text and we’ll help you build the right order.
-
Payment is due when your final media is delivered, unless other arrangements have been made in advance. Your invoice can be paid by credit card, mobile payment, or another agreed-upon method.
-
Photography and most listing materials are delivered the next day. Video is typically delivered within 48 hours.
Larger or more complex projects may require additional time, and we’ll let you know in advance if the standard turnaround will be different.
-
You’ll receive an email with access to your online property page, where you can review and download your media. Photography is provided in MLS, web, and print-ready formats, and every package includes branded and unbranded property websites with customizable marketing materials.
-
If you’re not happy, neither are we. Let us know as soon as possible and we’ll make it right.
Errors or unintentional oversights reported within seven days will be corrected at no additional cost, provided the correction doesn’t require a new shoot.
More extensive revisions or reshoots may require an additional fee.
Editing & Enhancements
POST PRODUCTION & AI
How your media is polished, what can be changed, and where and when we use AI.
-
Every image is professionally edited for balanced exposure, accurate color, clean whites, straight verticals, window detail, and a consistent finish throughout the property. The goal is polished, elevated photography that still feels natural and true to the home.
Homework’s photography packages use hand-blended HDR editing and include MLS, web, and print-ready files.
-
Standard editing includes exposure and color correction, perspective correction, blue-sky replacement when needed, and minor cleanup of small visual distractions.
It does not include extensive retouching, major object removal, landscaping changes, repairs, or alterations to the property itself.
-
Most distractions can and will be cleaned up before delivery. Large scale edits such as landscaping, house color changes, driveway repairs or other significant elements that require more extensive retouching may involve an additional fee.
We will not make changes that materially misrepresent the property.
-
For sure! We can add realistic furniture and décor to vacant rooms, selected to complement the home’s architecture, finishes, and overall character. Existing architectural elements and permanent property features remain unchanged, and virtually staged images should be appropriately disclosed when published.
Because virtual staging is a custom creative process, Homework retains final discretion over the styling, furnishings, and overall aesthetic of the finished image. We provide one completed virtually staged image per selected room. Alternate versions and revisions are not included and may incur an additional fee.
-
We may use professional and AI-assisted tools throughout post-production, but never to materially misrepresent a property.
AI may assist with routine adjustments such as color, exposure, sky replacement, and visual consistency, as well as more substantial services including virtual staging, environment edits, and large-object removal.
We encourage clients to disclose when media has been materially altered. The listing agent remains responsible for determining and making any disclosures required by the MLS, brokerage, advertising platform, or applicable law.
TERMS, RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Policies
Clear expectations around cancellations, media usage, disclosures, weather, and protecting your delivered files.
-
Life happens. Rescheduling requests made at least 24 hours before the appointment will be accommodated whenever possible.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled shoot may incur a $75 cancellation fee.
If Homework needs to cancel because of severe weather, illness, equipment failure, or another unforeseen issue, we’ll work with you to reschedule at no additional cost.
-
Exterior photography and drone flights depend on safe and suitable conditions. If severe weather, unsafe flying conditions, or airspace restrictions prevent us from completing part of the shoot, we’ll coordinate the best next step with you.
Drone photography and video are only captured where flight is safe and legally authorized.
-
Your booking includes a license to use the delivered photos and videos to market the specific property photographed, including the MLS, property websites, social media, and your own promotion of the active listing.
The license ends when the listing is closed, withdrawn, expired, or otherwise no longer actively marketed, whether or not the property sells. It cannot be transferred to another agent, brokerage, builder, designer, vendor, publication, buyer, seller, or other third party.
Homework retains the copyright to all delivered media. For advertising campaigns, publication placement, builder or designer portfolios, third-party use, or extended commercial distribution, contact us to arrange additional licensing. We’re happy to discuss the intended use and provide the appropriate license for the project.
-
Cropping and minor formatting required by standard listing platforms are perfectly fine.
For all other alterations, including adding filters, extra retouching, AI edits, or changes to the appearance of the media, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d rather help you get the right result than have the finished media lose its intended quality or consistency.
-
Homework creates visual marketing media and does not verify property dimensions, boundaries, condition, features, or other listing information. The client is responsible for confirming that all property details and representations are accurate.
We encourage clients to disclose when media has been materially altered. The listing agent remains responsible for determining and making any disclosures required by the MLS, brokerage, advertising platform, or applicable law.
-
Your listing website will remain active for one year from the delivery date, giving you ongoing access to view and download the completed media during that period.
We still encourage clients to download and securely store all files immediately after delivery. After one year, the listing website and archived media may no longer be available. If an older project can be retrieved, an archive retrieval fee may apply.
